Post 53 provides emergency pre-hospital care from EMTs and AEMTs to the citizens of Darien. In a good percentage of the emergency calls, this level of training is sufficient to support the patient as they are transported to the local hospital. However, in some cases, according to protocols, a paramedic from Stamford EMS (SEMS) is called into service.
